Last Update: May 21, 2020
We love sharing our Traditional Island Retreat, but the safety of our guests is paramount. Until we can open our doors wide again, the Georgilas Cave House is following the decisions and directions of the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Health and the National Health Organisation, in order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus COVID-19.
How Georgilas Cave House is getting ready to welcome you again:
• Our house-keeping approach will be fully in line with the national Cleaning Protocol taking into account Airbnb’s Enhanced Cleaning Initiative (to be announced soon).
• Each property is independent and self-autonomous. Therefore, guests are able to have their meals at home isolated at their private terrace or patio.
• The communal areas including the pool and the BBQ will be used in rotation.
These combined actions are currently in effect and are as follows:
• On June 15 are mapped to re-open seasonal hotels and accommodations, museums, galleries and open-air cinemas.
• On May 25 will re-open restaurants, coffee shops and bars with a table limit of 6 people, except for families with children. In any case, take away and home delivery services are recommended.
• On May 18 re-opened open-air archeological sites.
• Swimming is allowed at both organised and non-organised beaches.
• Group gatherings of 10 people or more should be avoided.
• Cash transactions are to be avoided where possible.
• The mandatory use of a face mask in public transport, taxis, hospitals, and recommended when visiting public services such as supermarkets, hairdressers and other retail spaces.
International Arrivals:
• International flights will initially only land in Athens’ International Airport when services resume on June 15 from countries where epidemiological data is encouraging such as Germany but they will eventually extend to all the airports as of July 1.
• Tourists will be allowed to enter Greece without taking a coronavirus test or remaining in quarantine when international flights restart on July 1, but health officials will conduct spot tests when required.
• Temporary entrance ban (for all borders) of non-EU Citizens until 15.06.2020 excluding EU and Schengen Treaty citizens.
• Temporary suspension of flights to/from Albania, North Macedonia, Italy, Spain, Turkey, the UK and the Netherlands is extended until 31 May.
• For cancelled flights, which were or will be cancelled from 25 February until 30 September 2020, refund claims of air passengers will be settled by the provision to the beneficiaries of a credit voucher of equal value to the ticket. The credit note is issued by the air carrier and its expiration date is 18 months from its issuance. During the 18-month period, the recipient of the voucher can make use of it to any destination that the network of the Air carrier offers. If the voucher has not been used by then, then the air carrier will have to proceed to the refund.
Sea connections with the Greek islands:
• Visitors and tourists are allowed to board as of May 25.
• Ferries will carry the 55% of their capacity.
• The pre-boarding entry test consists of temperature checks and file-in of a questionnaire for tracing purposes. Passengers much wear community face masks throughout the journey.
